How to get more Processing Power?

In the Run box, type "Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks". This frees up any idle tasks running in the background so that Windows XP can devote its full attention to what you want it to do NEXT. For example playing graphic intensive games or video editing.

The above command can take up from 10 to 15 minutes so be sure to close all open applications and run the command.

Increase speed by tweaking prefetcher settings

01. run "regedit";

02. goto [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Control \SessionManager\ Memory Management\ PrefetchParameters\ EnablePrefetcher];

03. Set the value to either 0-Disable, 1-App launch prefetch, 2-Boot Prefetch, 3-Both ("3" isrecommended).

04. reboot.

It should decrease the boot time and the time it takes to load programs.
